Privacy Policy

LogAlto is a web based software that allows individuals and organizations to create their own forms and collaboratively collect data from respondents. This privacy policy applies to our software LogAlto. LogAlto is a service provided by DevAlto Technologies inc. (“DevAlto”).

 

Personal information and data collected, used and disclosed in the course of using LogAlto will be treated in the manner set out below. This privacy statement describes privacy practices that are specific to LogAlto.

 

  1. What is a personal information?

Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual or any facts which, on their own or combined with other data, can identify an individual. Personal information doesn't include the names and titles of an organization's employees or the addresses and telephone numbers of their workplace. It doesn't apply to information regarding companies or other legal entities.

 

  1. What information does DevAlto collect?

Registration information. You need an account created by DevAlto before you can use the service. When we create your account, we collect your name, username, password and email address.

 

Account settings. You can set various preferences and personal details on your profile settings. For example, your default language and profile pictures.

 

Email address information. We allow you to import email addresses into the software so you can easily invite people to take your custom forms via email. We don’t use these email addresses for our own purposes or email them except at our client’s direction.

 

Custom forms data. We store your custom form data (questions and responses) for you. These custom form data could be any personal information that you wish to include in your custom form (e.g., name, birthdate, pictures, addresses, etc.).

 

Location Information. We may collect precise location data about your current location when you are using LogAlto. If you permit LogAlto to access location services through the permission system used by your mobile operating system (“platform”), we may also collect the precise location of your device when the app is running in the foreground or background. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.

 

  1. How does DevAlto use the collected information?

To monitor, maintain, and improve our services and features. DevAlto internally performs statistical and other analysis on collected information (including usage data, device data, referral data, and information from page tags) to analyze and measure user behavior and trends, to understand how people use our services, and to monitor, troubleshoot and improve our services. We may use your information for internal purposes designed to keep our services secure and operational, such as for troubleshooting and testing purposes, and for service improvement and development purposes.

 

To create new services, features or content. We may use your aggregated custom form data and custom form metadata (that is, data about the characteristics of a custom form) to create and provide new services, features or content.

 

  1. With whom do we share or disclose your information?

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

 

Service Providers. We may share your information with third parties who provide services on our behalf to help with our business activities such as providing customer service. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

 

Your information if there’s a change in business ownership or structure. We may transfer your information, including all profile data, account details, other personal information, and responses to custom forms, to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which DevAlto participates or to a purchaser of all or substantially all of DevAlto’s assets. In this event, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website, of any change in ownership, uses of your personal information, and choices you may have regarding your personal information. We may also disclose your personal information to any other third party with your prior consent.

 

Disclosures required by law. We may disclose your information as required or permitted by law, including for purposes of national security and law enforcement, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, subpoena, or other legal process served on us.

 

  1. What are your rights to your information?

Access and correct your personal information. Some account holders and other individuals have certain legal rights to obtain information of whether we hold personal information about them, to access personal information we hold about them, and to obtain its correction, update, amendment or deletion in appropriate circumstances.  For some information, these rights may be exercised through your account management page, and in all cases, requests to exercise these rights may be directed to support@logalto.com. These rights are subject to some exceptions, such as where giving you access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of other individuals. We will respond to your request to exercise these rights within a reasonable time and, where required by law or where we deem it otherwise appropriate and practicable to do so, we will honor your request.

 

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

 

Opt-out Preferences. When you register for an account, we will use your name and email address to send periodic emails to you of both promotional and transactional in nature. You may choose to stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or you can contact us at support@logalto.com.

 

We will also send you service related email announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. You do not have an option to opt out of these emails, which are not promotional in nature.

 

  1. Security, cookies and other important information

Data locations. The servers on which LogAlto operate are located at multiple locations around the world, so your information will be hosted on the closest server near your location. Additionally, your information may be processed in and transferred or disclosed to countries in which our service providers are located or have servers.

 

Security. The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. Cookies / Tracking Technologies. LogAlto and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.

 

Log files. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.

 

  1. Information Related to Data Collected through the Service

Information Related to Data Collected for our Clients. DevAlto may collects information under the direction of its clients, and has no direct relationship with the individual respondents whose personal information it processes. If you are a customer or respondent of one of our clients and would no longer like to be contacted by the client that using our service, please contact the client that you interact with directly. We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our clients.

 

Access and Retention of Data Controlled by our Clients. DevAlto has no direct relationship with the individual respondents whose personal information it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the LogAlto client (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

 

We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our clients for as long as needed to provide services to our client. DevAlto will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

 

  1. Changes to This Privacy Statement.

We may update this privacy statement to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
